racks (horrible turbulence and bug splat).
I also second the recommendation about 1 UP products, don't have
one (yet) but friends with them couldn't be happier with their
quality.
However, two things to consider about bumper racks -
Driving in rain makes your bikes a horrible mess.
You trade an overhead crash hazard (garage door hit being the most
common) for a backing into hazard (bollards, planters, fences) or
dragging (steep driveway) problem.

Roof top has lots of problems; namely it's extremely fuel
inefficient. Hitch mount is good, plus it keeps bug
splatter to a minimum on your bikes. I highly recommend
the 1 UP USA racks. Hella expensive, but they will last
nearly forever ... Only problem I've found with them is
having bikes with permanent fenders mounted. This is a
common problem for any wheel/clamp style rack system. Can
be remedied with a little imagination ...

They do have roof top versions too - but I can't vouch for
them, as I've only ever used the hitch mount.

Hi Brian,
I've been using Yakima's Sprocket Rocket and LOVE it!
Disc friendly and very secure. (Only downside is it's not
QR15 friendly)

Yakima, Rocky Mounts, etc. I'm not too crazy about Thule.
