North Portland on Mississippi Avenue

Cirque du Cycling is a celebration along Mississippi Avenue every year. The
event features a cargo bike race, family ride, a high-speed bike race, a
beer garden, free bike parking, and much more. Cirque du Cycling was
created by Laughing Planet Cafe, with special event coordination by Good
Sport Promotion.

Come watch the area’s fastest bike racers at the N. Mississippi Ave.
Criterium. This one of a kind two-way course features quick loops that
makes the event so exciting to watch. Bring your lawn chairs, grab a
Laughing Planet Cafe burrito, or relax in the beer garden, and get ready
for an evening of hot racing action.

START TIMES AND CATEGORIES:
Races are open to all ages and genders. Neutral wheels provided. Warm-ups
are 15 minutes before each race. Field sizes will be limited to the
following: Cat 1-2 is 90 and Cat 3 is 75 riders.
Category 3 - 6:30 PM (45 minutes + 1 lap)
Category 1-2 - 7:30 PM (1 hour + 1 lap)

COURSE/DISTANCE:
Course is 1 M or 1.7 KM in length. Start/Finish area will be between N.
Beech and Failing streets, across from the Laughing Planet Café. The race
course runs between N. Skidmore and N. Fremont streets, and includes 2-way
racing on N. Mississippi Ave.

WHERE:
North Mississippi Avenue, Portland, Oregon. Riding to the event is highly
suggested. Parking is extremely limited. We suggest riding, carpooling or
taking transit. Start/Finish is at Laughing Planet Cafe North Portland
Location, 3765 N Mississippi Ave. Portland, OR 97227.

REGISTRATION:
$25.00 pre-registration, $30.00 day of event. Online pre-registration ends
on August 8, 2013 at 12:00 Midnight. Field sizes will be limited to the
following: Cat 1-2 is 90 and Cat 3 is 75 riders. Pre-register to ensure a
spot. Register online at

opens at 5:00 PM, located at Start/Finish is at Laughing Planet Cafe North
Portland Location, 3765 N Mississippi Ave. Portland, OR 97227. An Oregon
Bicycle Racing Association (OBRA) license is required to race and is
available at registration for $5 (single-day) or $25 (annual). You may
purchase a day or annual membership at race site. OBRA 2013 cloth numbers
will be used and will go on your right side.

RULES:
Approved helmets required. All OBRA Racing Rules apply. OBRA and the
organizers of this race do not provide insurance coverage for injuries that
occur at the race. The costs related to those injuries are the
responsibility of the individual participant.
