Here is the schedule for the 2013 Junior Cyclocross Series.
This year we are moving to a 5 race series (from 7). Last year we got all
promoters to adopt a Junior only race time slot that was a huge
accomplishment. Now we do not need a large number of races in the series to
create the junior only option. It is there, everywhere. Going to a 5 race
series I hope to drive participation in these events even higher. Now the
High School Series and JCS are both 5 races (JCS was 7, and HS 5 in previous
years). These five races will hopefully be the big ones that juniors target
for the year. Ken McLarty and Pedalers at the poor farm, and the State
Championships will host the Series awards. Another great reason to come over
to Edgefield. Ken has big plans for this year. You won't want to miss it.
After skipping Eugene and Psycho Cross last year we are back for the 3013
opener.
Last year Juniors took on the brutal run up at Barlow and the informal poll
had everyone asking for more. So we are back again.
Heiser Farms has always had a huge draw for Juniors and we look forward to
visiting the farm again for some great racing action.
We will finish the series with two Cross Crusade events. Back to Bend for
the "Day Before" the Costume/Halloween race. Bend and Brad are great hosts
for the JCS and we owe the current High School CX championship team (Bend) a
race on their home turf.
The final race is a Cross Crusade but the venue is TBD. Stay tuned for

I want to thank OBRA and all the promoters who have supported the Junior
Cyclocross Series over the years. I wish every race on the calendar could be
part of the series. In a way they are since it was the early JCS hosting
promoters who showed everyone that the 12 noon Junior only (no adults) time
slot and schedule could work. Now nearly everyone has adopted this schedule
and our aspiring Juniors have amazing opportunities across the OBRA
calendar. Thank you OBRA officials for donating your lunch time, and OBRA
promoters for making this happen.
We have great sponsorship for the series and stay tuned for more updates and
details. High School teams & Juniors get out there and start practicing.
September is right around the corner.
