Well that makes my pressure washing spam a lot easier to do!

Just kidding, I'll be racing and washing bikes at the muddy cx races this fall.

So far it looks like all of these incompetent unsubscribers are not members. They signed on to sell something and then were not bright enough to sign off.. Maybe we need to make membership a requirement for subscription?

I used to feel a twinge of guilt about poking fun at people blasting
every member of our list with their pathetic pleas to be unsubscribed.
But now that I know they are not OBRA members - and they were simply a
parasitic part of this list - I feel much better that I was not in fact
teasing bonafide OBRA members.
Further, my faith is somewhat restored that the technical acumen of the
average OBRA member is better than this list would indicate.

Overall, it's starting out to be a pretty good day!

* How To Unsubscribe:

To unsubscribe from this service you must first purchase a Craft-O-Matic
Adjustable Subscription Cancellation Unit. The unit can be obtained
from most hardware stores and dental clinics. Be sure to obtain the
proper permits to operate the unit from the Nuclear Regulatory
Commission and the Food and Drug Administration in Washington D.C. USA.

Be sure to carefully unpack the kit and place each component in its
accompanying mesh safety bag. Mount the Pershing DF4 mesinator on top of
the perforated Gerring Mach 77 refibulator and attach them using the
eight-millimeter torque fork. Be sure that the refibulator is mounted at
a 66 degree angle and properly dispersed so that it is flush with the
curved section of the Pyrex thistle tube. Place the four sections of the
triangular separation gear into the posture cylinder and lock them into
place using the band aid adhesive strip. Insert the wiggling pin into
the wobbling hole, making sure that it seated correctly. Place the D
cell battery and the eleven 9 volt batteries in the power chamber.

The device should be calibrated before operation using the optional
digital corkscrew accessory pack prior to operation. Insert the digital
corkscrew through the electronic combustion service chamber using
caution not to touch the reinforced tungsten igniter control module and
quickly turn the inverter drive to 28.6 degrees. Turn the Craft-O-Matic
Adjustable Subscription Cancellation Unit upside down and hit the bottom
plate with a 48-ounce ball-peen hammer while shaking the unit
vigorously. Force open the door to the incineration valve compartment
and set the pressure gauge to 719 psi. Close the door and seal it shut
with duct tape. The unit should now be properly calibrated and ready to
use.

Before activating the Craft-O-Matic Adjustable Subscription Cancellation
Unit, you must first elevate it to a height of 229 feet above sea level
to insure that the unit receives the proper oxygen level and barometric
pressure. Point the aerial to 17 degrees north by northeast to within
the parameters of the Telstar GS-2 weather satellite and apply pressure
to the wing shaft on the southern most section of the modular
accelerator. Using the special ratchet adapter supplied with the unit,
rotate the heater core to the "on" position.

The "on" position has been obtained when the green light begins to
flash, signifying that the red light is about to go off. Once the red
light is off, flip the toggle switch labeled "ON/OFF" to the "ON"
position and count to 47 before logging on to the system.

Logon using your username and password and wait for the prompt. Once
prompted you must check the box with the appropriate action you wish to
take and then press the pressure release button and turn off the
compressor while turning the hand crank at 231 meters per minute. Next,
press control, alt, delete, caps lock, shift, number lock, escape and
tab simultaneously. Press enter.

You will have one second to complete the procedure. If you fail to
respond in the time limit allowed, simply purchase a new Craft-O-Matic
Adjustable Subscription Cancellation Unit and start from the beginning.

Please remember that this is the only way we will accept for you to
unsubscribe from this service. We have made every attempt to simplify
the procedure for your convenience. Failure to comply with the
unsubscribe policy will result in immediate termination of your
subscription so please follow the above directions closely.Or just follow the instructions in the footer at the bottom of every email to this listserv.

Do juniors have a start time? Or do they race in their respected catagory?
I.e. beginner? B's? A's?. My 10 year old son is racing.

Sounds like no more fixed gear cyclocross at the Cross Crusades (and maybe
others). ?

So here are the rules specific to cyclocross:

7.10.4 Freewheel requirement
Bicycles shall have a freewheel mechanism
7.10.5 Freewheel requirement exception
A fixed may be used in races where all competitors are similarly equipped.
Free wheeled and fixed gear bicycles shall not be?
mixed in the same mass start event

This makes me sad. ?

People may think I am nuts but I love riding my fixie in cross races (always
have two brakes too). ?The last two years I have been riding my fixie in the
singlespeed and occasionally in Master C races. ?I was unaware of my lack of
a freewheel causing any problems for anyone but me. ?

Is there any way that fixed gear could be allowed in the SS class? ?There
already is a requirement for a brake for each wheel. ??

If no, the next best thing is understanding why...

Thanks...Steve Westberg

What's next? Is someone gonna suggest we should be able to zip tie our

What's next? Is someone gonna suggest we should be able to zip tie our
shifters and race geared bikes in SS? ?That's crazy talk...

Subject: [OBRA Chat] Proper CX Number Placement
Message-ID:
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1"

Now that cyclocross season has officially started, I'd like to share some
race number placement advice with everyone from an OBRA Official's
perspective. I spent the day on Saturday staring at a computer screen and
typing everyone's number as they crossed the line every lap. It's not that
difficult of a job, except for when numbers aren't correctly placed. Then it
becomes really difficult.
So, I've attached an image showing some examples of number placement, both
good and bad. For those of you who can't see attachments, I've also uploaded
it the web and you can view it here:
http://www.dmroth.com/cycling/cx_number_placement.jpg
Let me explain a couple of things about number placement. On its own, one
poorly placed number isn't very difficult to deal with. The problem starts
when there are many poorly placed numbers. As the camera person is recording
every number, every lap, anything that makes us have to pause for even a
couple of extra seconds to try to decipher really adds up. Please try to
properly pin your number. You will make my job easier and all of the
officials will be happier people. It also reduces mistakes and allows us to
produce results faster and more accurately.
Please let me (or one of the other friendly OBRA Officials) know if you have
any questions about number placement.
Thanks,
Dave - one of your friendly OBRA Officials

Still looking to sell the following:

1. Alpha Q CX20 carbon fork - It has some cosmetic scuffs and
scratches, a tab bit of finish peeled off thanks to the tape I put on to
protect the finish. $150. This is a great fork.

2. Thompson Elite Seat Post 10 degree setback - 27.2 X 330 typical wear
$50

I live in SE PDX and work in LO. Call 503 703 9690 or email if interested.

And - don't sit up when you cross the line! It invariably blocks the number
for both the camera and the judges doing scoring.

There have been no sightings yet, but the Oregon Coast Gravel Epic takes you
so deep on back roads into the Coast range you might see him.
Rally the troops, because Oct 5th is your chance to ride the Abomination
route . 73-miles and 10,000 feet of elevation gain, or choose the 37-mile
Son of Abomination route with ?just? 5,000 feet of climbing. In true boxing
style we?ll be awarding the first overall male and female from the
Abomination route with a custom award. Though you can set it on the mantle
for the year, it?s not really yours to keep. You have to defend it.
Though an epic is guaranteed, we will make sure you?ve got every chance to
finish, with aid stations and additional water refill stations. Plus when
you finally finish spitting the gravel out of your teeth and cross the
finish line you?ll be awarded with a local meal and brew.
Registration is tight, so square that away now ? register today

More granular control (you can add a calendar per event type, cross, road,
etc. for each year)

Dynamic updating - the script reads the OBRA website and adjusts when the
calendar changes.

Note: Since I'm not OBRA's web developer, this stuff could change without
notice, if you miss a race, please don't blame me, or at least don't tell me
you're blaming me.

1). Click this link - http://pdxvr.com/other/obra/obra_calendar.php

2). Choose the year and event type

3). Hit submit

4). Click the Google Calendar Subscription button.

5). Add to your calendar and hope it actually works.

6). Crack open a beer (optional, for 21 or older only)

Anyone with experience with the SIDI, specifically the SRS Spiders?

I am in need of some new MTB/CX shoes...

I've been using Bontrager RXL (carbon sole) and they are about to give up

Thanks for opinions and reviews...
