I bought a NOS Imron-painted frame. I want to preserve the beautiful paint. I plan to use it as a daily rider, so it is going to get knocked about some. Would clearcoating help keep the paint looking good? How is this done at a shop? Cost? Could I just rattle-can it? It is not going to be a museum piece, but I would like to keep it looking good.

I'm sure lots of you have theoretical knowledge, but I am particularly interested in hearing from painting pros, or people who have actually done this.
