First off, I have to thank the dozen+ people who took the time to reply to my question.

Second, assuming there are others considering converting a geared bike to SS, I want to share that the votes were overwhelmingly positive for the White Industries Eccentric Hub and, as another (potentially even better) way to accomplish the same conversion, their Eccentric BB.

I'm trying to figure out the best way to convert my geared cross bike with semi vertical rear drop outs to an indestructible SS. Does this White Industries Eccentric Eno Hub setup work or what? I'd love to avoid having to use a chain tensioner, given that I'm trying to get rid of parts that can clog up and fail in really muddy conditions (like 3 derailleurs did last season). And advice is highly appreciated.
