You should definately follow up in this case.
There are many potential crimes with which this driver could be charged.
Many times, unfortunately the office at the scene is not very interested in pursuing the case. It does not have to end there. You can file a police report yourself and then have the DA's office review the police report to decide for themselves if they want to press charges.
I encourage everyone in this type of situation to follow through. If you do not and the office does not, that is the end, plain and simple.

he drove by at about 50mph. missing me by less than 12". slammed on his
brakes, jumped out and did a "try to scare me" punch. my friend ended up in
the ditch cause he turned around and saw how close the guy was to us. then
the guy was all over in my friends face yelling and doing more of his
pretend punches. i missed most of the "conversation" when i was getting the
cell phone out. i called home and left the plate number and descriptions on
my answering machine so i could call the sherrif when i got home.

there were e-mails earlier this year regarding what to do if you encounter
a
crazy driver. I had an incident yesterday, got the license number along
with
descriptions of both the truck and the guy. when I called the sheriff I
was
told it was freedom of speech and nothing could be done.
