Barlow - Should It Have Been Cancelled?

As much as people train (or don’t) body and mind for Cross...to “perfect their Calling”............it all becomes fodder for MYTH as soon as you finish or dnf. How else can it have become Crossligion. No offense intended!
I am not doing an “easy ride” today!

Matt is right with regard to Dry. It is not just bumpy....it is Brutal Bumpy! Dry condition tires were the secret for sure. I started the day with mud tires on, but after pre-ride, switched to dry. I even had time pick some blackberries when I went into them on that deceptive soupy first descent out in the farm field. I would not have had time for that with mud tires. Actually. I survived like the rest of you.
Andy. You are not supposed to look at the tree! If you do...it seduces you!

It should be cancelled if it doesn't rain... Brutally bumpy when it's dry.

No way Barlow should've been cancelled in my opinion. I loved it.

As of this morning, I understand that there are 3 racers still trying to make it up the Wall, 2 still lost somewhere in the bottom of puddles, 4 up to their ribs (and still sinking) in the quick-mud around the tree farm, and 1 stuck between the barriers above the start line who simply sat down in protest and refused to go any further. Oh, the humanity!

Side note: Ron won his cat because he sandbagged everyone and DID ride his dry tires. Wily old fox, he is!
