Twentieth Annual Cross Crusade Cyclocross Series. Presented by River City Bicycles.

Race # One: Alpenrose Dairy, Sunday, Oct. 6th

It seems like just a few weeks ago that we were partying down at the 2012 Crusade Awards Party. And now we're kicking off the 2013 season. As usual we are starting the Crusade off at Alpenrose Dairy in Southwest Portland. The course will be very similar to what we have used the last few years, but it seems as if the conditions may be different. I think I can guarantee that there won't be a repeat of last years dust storm.

I have a few announcements that I'm very excited to make. Shimano will be managing our pit lane and will have neutral wheels in case you have a flat. If your bike has bigger issues than just a flat, that's ok too as Sellwood Cycle Repair will have spare bikes in the pit to keep you in the game. If you don't have a bike at all, that's ok too. Sage Cycles will have demo bikes on hand for you to check out and race on.

Once again, the Black Knight will be in the mix. He will have a number of sweet prizes for random folks. Including Go Pro Camera's, Giant Floor Pumps, ABUS Bike Locks, Shimano Pro Components, and Rapha Jerseys.

The Alpenrose course will be open for pre ride at 2:00pm on Saturday the 5th. Teams are welcome to come out and set up tents at any time on Saturday. First come first serve on tent space.

As usual, parking is very tight at this venue. Carpooling or riding out is highly recommended. If you are on a team, try to load as much equipment as possible into your team car. Please be mindful of our awesome parking attendants.

As usual, there will be all kinds of good stuff to eat, so bring a few extra dollars, grab yourself a bratwurst or waffle and stick around for a while after your race. Bob's Red Mill will be serving up free oatmeal and Nossa Familia will be serving free coffee in the morning.

Most importantly, have a great race and have fun.

See you all on Sunday
